Nelson Chipman Jr. has issued a cease-and-desist letter demanding they not move forward with the decision. Chipman called the proposed action “tyrannical” and warned that his office could consider further action if commissioners proceed.

Richard Alan Gast, 60, of Knox, was arrested Monday following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office says Gast faces four felony charges, including two counts of rape, and is being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
Marshall County Commissioners voted 2-0 Monday to cover all six Flock cameras within 14 days, with Commissioner Stan Klotz abstaining. Starke County commissioners have adopted an ordinance banning commercial data centers in all zoning districts under the county Plan Commission’s jurisdiction.
