A 37-year-old Grovertown man was arrested early Monday morning after police say his vehicle crossed the center line and nearly went off the road.

According to the Plymouth Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop near State Road 17 and Glenn Overmeyer around 12:10 a.m. on October 19.

Police identified the driver as Lorenzo Guzman-Santiz, 37, of Grovertown. During the investigation, officers determined that Guzman-Santiz was intoxicated and did not have a valid driver’s license.

Guzman-Santiz was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on allegations of operating a vehicle while intoxicated - endangerment and operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license - prior conviction.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
