CBS News has announced it will discontinue its longtime radio service, CBS News Radio, bringing an end to nearly a century of broadcasting.

According to an affiliate notice sent to partners, the network will officially cease operations on May 22, 2026, and will no longer produce or distribute programming after that date.

The move impacts approximately 700 affiliated radio stations nationwide that currently carry CBS News Radio content, including its well-known hourly updates and long-running broadcasts.

CBS News Radio traces its roots back to 1927, making it one of the oldest radio news services in the United States. Its flagship program, World News Roundup, became one of the longest-running newscasts in American history.
