In a statement, the sheriff’s office said the department has followed its standard operating procedures regarding the cameras and recognizes there are benefits to their use.
“While our department has adhered to our SOP’s regarding the use of Flock cameras, and we know there are benefits of the camera use, Sheriff Rosa has made the decision to discontinue the renewal of our contract with Flock cameras in Starke County,” the departments post said.
The sheriff’s office said the decision was made in the best interest of the community, citing its commitment to maintaining trust through transparency and open communication.
