The Hamlet Fire Department is getting ready to spread some Christmas cheer and is asking the community to help make the holidays special for local children.

The department has announced its second annual Christmas Toy Drive, with donations being accepted through December 12.

Last year, the department was able to provide toys and Christmas dinner to 17 local families, benefiting 44 children.

This year, the department says it is already on track to help 40 children, ranging in age from newborns to 17 years old, but additional donations are needed.

Residents interested in donating toys can drop them off at collection boxes located inside Hamlet Town Hall or give them directly to a Hamlet Fire Department member.

Monetary donations are also being accepted in person at Hamlet Town Hall. Those contributions will be used to fill gaps in toy donations.

All donations must be received by December 12, 2026.
