Two people were arrested Wednesday night following a traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail.
According to Plymouth Police, Patrolman Thornton initiated the stop around 8 p.m. Sept. 24 after observing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
Police said the driver told officers he did not have his license with him and identified himself as a man from East Chicago. During the investigation, officers determined the driver had provided a false identity and identified him as Kentrell Garvie Lucas, 29, of Gary.
According to police, Lucas was wanted through Porter County on multiple warrants and was also found to be driving without ever having obtained a license.
Patrolman Schieber and K-9 Kyzer also responded to the stop, and police said the K-9 gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics. Officers reported finding paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle.
Passenger Siarra Simone Barnes-Jones, 29, of Fort Wayne, was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of paraphernalia and false informing.
Lucas was also taken to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of false informing and operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license. He was also being held on the Porter County warrants.
