Plymouth High School has officially named Brent Corbett as its full-time head football coach, continuing his leadership of the Rockies football program after serving as interim head coach during the past season.
Corbett is a 2007 Plymouth High School graduate and longtime assistant coach within the Rockies football program. According to Plymouth High School Athletics, he brings a connection to the community and a focus on developing student-athletes while building a competitive program.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the full-time head football coach at Plymouth High School,” Corbett said. “I want to thank our administration for their trust and belief in me to lead this program. Our players, coaches, families, and community make Rockies football special, and I’m excited to continue building something they can be proud of.”
Corbett said he plans to emphasize accountability, toughness and respect while helping student-athletes grow as players and young men.
Plymouth High School Athletic Director Ryan Welch said Corbett demonstrated the qualities the school values in coaches and mentors during his time as interim head coach.
“Throughout this past season, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the standard of competitiveness, accountability, and passion he brought to our football program,” Welch said. “While our results on the field were not where we wanted them to be, I have tremendous confidence in Brent’s ability to build a program rooted in toughness, discipline, and pride.”
With Corbett officially in the role, Plymouth High School Athletics said it looks forward to continuing to build a football program reflecting the pride, tradition and competitive spirit of the Rockies community.
