A South Bend man was arrested after Plymouth Police say they tracked a Taco Bell employee’s missing cellphone to another business Tuesday night.
According to Plymouth Police, officers were dispatched to Taco Bell on North Michigan Street at approximately 8:09 p.m. on September 30 for a reported theft.
An employee told officers he had left his cellphone in the bathroom. When he returned to get it, the phone was missing.
During the investigation, police obtained a photograph of the man believed to have taken the phone. Officers then tracked the location of the phone to Lady Bug Laundry.
Police located the man inside the business and identified him as Shaun Cory, 57, of South Bend.
According to police, Cory told officers he had placed the phone inside a bathroom trash can and wrapped it in paper towels. Police said Cory told them he intended to return the phone.
Cory was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of theft.
