The Marshall County Health Department says there is currently no confirmed measles case involving a Marshall County resident following a review by the Indiana Department of Health.
In a release issued Friday, November 6, the department clarified that the patient associated with an earlier measles report was evaluated and tested by a health care provider in Marshall County but is actually a resident of LaGrange County.
As a result, the confirmed measles case is now attributed to LaGrange County.
The health department says it continues to monitor the situation and encourages residents to review their immunization records. Officials also reminded residents that measles is highly contagious and vaccination remains the most effective way to protect against the disease.
The department apologized for any confusion caused by its earlier communication.
