Marshall County has seen an increase in field and grass fires due to recent dry weather, according to the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency.
In an update Wednesday, October 28, the agency urged residents to use caution when burning outdoors. Officials recommend never leaving fires unattended, keeping a stone ring or other barrier around fire pits, and being mindful of environmental conditions that could cause a fire to spread out of control.
The EMA says a rainier weather pattern is expected to move into the area by November 1. Until then, residents are encouraged to limit outdoor burning and take extra precautions.
