The Town of Culver will begin its fall leaf collection on Monday, October 26, with the Street/Utilities Department collecting leaves raked to the curb.
Residents are asked to place leaf piles near the road, but not in the street. The town’s collection truck uses a vacuum hose with a limited reach, so piles placed too far from the roadway may not be completely collected.
Sticks and branches should be kept separate from leaf piles to prevent the vacuum hose from becoming clogged. Crews will return to collect branches once leaf collection is under control.
The town also reminds residents not to rake leaves into the street. Leaves that are run over by vehicles can become matted down and more difficult to collect. They can also cover storm drains, slowing drainage and potentially causing backups.
Collection crews will follow a designated route through town and begin the route again once it is complete. The town expects properties to be visited at least once a week.
Residents are asked to be patient as crews work their way through Culver and to follow the collection guidelines to help keep the process safe and efficient.
