The Town of Bremen is preparing for its annual fall leaf collection, with regular brush pickup coming to an end and leaf collection beginning next week.
According to a Bremen community alert, Monday, October 19, will be the final day for regular stick and brush pickup until spring. The town will continue collecting brush following storms and will also pick up Christmas trees after the holiday season.
Annual leaf collection is scheduled to begin Wednesday, October 21, with the following weekly pickup schedule:
North and South streets: Mondays and Wednesdays
East and West streets: Tuesdays and Thursdays
The town reminds residents that the leaf collection equipment can only pick up leaves. Piles containing sticks, brush or any other materials will be skipped.
Residents can also continue using the town’s brush dump, which remains open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for town residents. The site accepts brush, sticks, grass clippings and leaves.
The town is asking residents to keep other materials out of leaf piles to help the Street Department complete collections and maintain town streets throughout the season.
