USW Local 12775 Authorizes Strike with Overwhelming Approval
March 29, 2026 at 5:38:37 PM

Members of United Steelworkers (USW) Local 12775 have voted to authorize a strike, according to union leadership.
The vote passed with more than 98% approval, giving the union’s negotiating committee the authority to call a strike if contract negotiations do not result in an agreement.
At this time, a strike has not been officially called, and it is unclear whether or when one could begin.
Strike authorization votes are common during contract negotiations and do not automatically mean workers will walk off the job. Talks between the union and the employer are expected to continue.
No additional details about a potential timeline or impact have been released.
