UPDATED: Names Released in Newton County Tornado Fatalities

The Newton County Coroner’s Office has released the names of two people killed when a tornado struck the Lake Village area Tuesday evening.

According to the coroner, the storm moved through rural northwest Newton County around 7:12 PM CST on March 10, 2026, producing a damaging tornado that destroyed homes and businesses in its path.

Authorities say Edward L. Kozlowski, 89, and his wife, Arlene Kozlowski, 84, were killed when their home was struck by the tornado.

Their preliminary cause of death has been listed as multiple blunt force trauma.

An autopsy for both victims is scheduled for Friday morning at the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office in Lafayette, Indiana.

Officials continue to assess damage in the Lake Village area following the storm. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
