After four weeks of public voting, the Plymouth Fire Station has been named the winner of this year’s Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) March Bracket Challenge.
The historic Marshall County landmark received strong community support throughout the competition, earning more than 1,500 likes in each round on its way to the top spot.
Originally built in 1875, the Plymouth Fire Station is one of the community’s most recognizable historic structures. The building features a distinctive 59-foot bell tower and has long stood as a symbol of the city’s early public safety efforts. Its historical significance was formally recognized in 1981, when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NR-0457).
The annual March Bracket Challenge highlights notable historic sites across Indiana, allowing the public to vote for their favorites and bring attention to the state’s preserved landmarks.
State officials thanked participants for engaging in this year’s contest and helping spotlight Indiana’s historic resources.
