NIPSCO Pauses Residential Service Disconnections Through May 15

April 6, 2026 at 12:32:03 AM

Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) announced it will continue suspending service disconnections for residential customers due to nonpayment through May 15, 2026.

The company says the move is aimed at helping customers manage rising everyday expenses, including energy costs.

“Many families are still making tough choices and energy bills are part of that,” said NIPSCO President and Chief Operating Officer Vince Parisi. “This is about keeping customers connected and giving them time and support to find a payment solution that works for their situation.”

Along with the continued pause on disconnections, NIPSCO is encouraging customers facing financial hardship to explore available assistance programs.

Customers can learn more about payment options and support programs by visiting:

NIPSCO says its goal is to keep customers safely connected while working with individuals to find solutions that fit their specific circumstances.
