Residents operating golf carts and utility vehicles in Bourbon are being reminded about the town’s permit requirements under Ordinance 2009-3.

According to the notice, operators must place their yearly permit sticker on the vehicle’s slow-moving vehicle sign. A new sticker must be purchased each year through the Clerk’s Office for $10, and it should be placed on top of the sticker from the previous year.

The notice states that failure to comply may result in a $25 fine for a first violation, followed by $100 fines for additional violations.

The town also listed several reminders for drivers:

  • Only licensed drivers may operate golf carts and utility vehicles.
  • Vehicles should not be driven on IN 331, except when crossing to another side street.
  • All rules of the road apply.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact the Clerk’s Office at 574-342-4755.
