The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of northern Indiana, including the Michiana area, until 12:00 AM EDT (11:00 PM CDT).
What this means:
Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of:
- Damaging wind gusts
- Large hail
- Frequent lightning
Counties included:
The watch covers a large portion of northern Indiana, including St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, La Porte, Starke, Pulaski, Fulton, Miami, and surrounding counties.
What to expect:
Storms may develop and move through the area this evening and overnight. Some storms could become severe with the potential for strong winds and hail.
