Deputy Jonathon Samuelson Reunited With K-9 Partner Bosco During Recovery

Deputy Jonathon Samuelson remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital in South Bend as he continues recovering from last week’s shooting.

According to an update released by the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Samuelson remains in critical but stable condition. Officials say he has made “significant strides” in his recovery since the initial update released Saturday.

The sheriff’s office says Deputy Samuelson is now communicating with family, friends, and fellow deputies while remaining in good spirits throughout his recovery.

One of the most emotional moments in the recovery process came Tuesday when Deputy Samuelson was reunited with his K-9 partner, Bosco, inside his ICU room. The two were able to spend time together as Samuelson continues receiving around-the-clock care from medical staff at Memorial Hospital.

The Samuelson family and the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office thanked the surgeons, physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff involved in his ongoing care.
